I wasn't sure whether you had come to the show with someone or not, but we chatted for a brief moment while you took a seat on the florescent green folding chair and waited for the bathroom. You were tall, drunk, and wearing a dark button-down shirt with brownish (I think) shoes. Let's get a coffee if you are free.

The S”mores Cart will be operating in Chicago April 24-25 2010. Partial proceeds from sales will be given in the form of an unrestricted cash grant to Chicagoans.
We are currently taking e-mail submissions.

Go to our blog here:

see Chicago Call for Proposals for directions.

The S’mores Grant Project provides grants for creative endeavors that engage with public environments.
The grant is funded by artists selling s’mores from a street vending cart. Our aim is to activate public space by supporting its creative development and transformation. We provide a focal point for a conversation about public art, on the street.

Do you have an idea for contributing to or activating your local public environment? If you are interested in art, design, or other-wise socially interactive work that you want to see realized in your community, contact us.

Printervention begins

Please join us at the opening of the pre Version 10 Festival exhibition, Printervention.

It opens Friday April 16 from 5 to 7pm at the Chicago Tourism Center Gallery, 72 E Randolph.

We have asked artists from around the country to create works that raise awareness of social and political issues of our day. Printervention underscores the necessity for the support of artists and the idea of civic responsibility to the greater society. In addition to an exhibition of over 70 posters and prints, Printervention will feature a mobile silk screen cart for distributing work in parks and on the street, a window display at The Whistler in Logan Square, as well as workshops and demonstrations at the Chicago Tourism Center Gallery.

Printervention is Presented by Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, Office of Tourism, part of Version 10, and Sponsored by the Society of Typographic Arts

The show will travel and expand over the year making stops in Detroit, New York and other American cities over the next year.
